Equipment needed to stream

Post by /n64 »

I have searched the things I have needed and got a wide variety of answers which just caused more confusion.
First, I just want to be able to capture the gameplay on a computer while still being able to play on a tv.
First, does this mean I need splitters?
Second, I have seen elgato capture card thrown around, I think that also has HDMI in which increases the price which I don't really mind since I could stream the switch, but is there a cheaper alternative for the RCA cords?
Also, what is s-video? I looked it up and the only things that I saw it could connect to was the capture card
lastly, the item I currently have is just this Imgur
The TV takes in AV only (and hdmi) I have no CRT available yet
