Game shark 2.1 problems

Okay so after finally getting a gam shark I was all excited to play some old wrestling games (WWF, WCW & ECW) and have all the wrestlers unlocked but the game will freeze every time I try to start up No Mercy or ECW Hardcore Revolution (both released in 2000) but I have no issues with WWF Warzone (released 1998) is it because my version is too old to work for these games? Is there any way to update it? Thanks.
