My 3ds problem while starting ds games.

[Released: 2011] The 3DS is similar to the DS, but is capable of projecting stereoscopic 3D effects without the use of 3D glasses or additional accessories. A redesigned "XL" version of the console was also released.

I got the 3ds from a friend and I think something is bricked/broken because I got a pokemon white copy from another friend and when I actually started the game I got a black screen on both the upper and lower, is there any way to fix it?
