Very new to this, need help with DS and Gameboy games on NES

So I’ve had my NES Classic able to download and run other NES games I’ve downloaded no problem. Then I wanted Gameboy and DS games, I’ve tried Gameboy first, downloaded the modules needed, but it just blackscreens as soon as I open the game and instantly kicks me out. DS games work the same way after I download all the modules under its own category in the Mod Hub. I make sure to have them selected in the Install extra modules tab, still nothing. I’ve also tried to right click the game and select which module it should be using but no dice. Am I missing an obvious key to this, would be really appreciated :)!
