Xenium Mod Chip Issue

So I recently bought my cousin's Xbox from him and I knew that it had a Xenium V2.0.1 mod chip in it. What I didn't realize that it's kinda half working. When I first turn on the Xbox it'll go straight to the original bios, but if I leave it off for a while then turn it on, it'll boot to the Xenium menu. Once I do something like play a game and then turn the console off and on to play a different game, the original bios will boot again. Does anyone know a fix to this? I have tools to get into the hardware, so I'm willing to go into it if I need to.
