Problem after backlight mod. Suggestions?

[Released: 1998] As suggested by the name, features a color screen. It is slightly thicker and taller than the Game Boy Pocket, which is a redesigned Game Boy released in 1996. As with the original Game Boy, it has an 8-bit processor and the custom Zilog Z80 central processing unit.

Problem after backlight mod. Suggestions?

Post by /gbColor »

Hi there. After my first ever backlight mod I noticed an issue. Everything seemed to work great until it wouldn't turn on this morning. I singled out the batteries and rom, they were fine. I was able to get it to turn on again after just messing around with it. I then concluded that it shuts off when the upper right corner of the system is squeezed too tightly. See the pictures below on the exact spot, and how loose the tri-wing screw in the back needs to be for it to function. Has anyone run into this issue? How can I fix this? Thanks.
This picture shows how loose the tri-wing screw needs to be for the system to function properly.
This is the spot where if squeezed, the system turns off.
