Anybody know if there's a difference between the way different PS3 models run PS1 games?

[Released: 1994] Sony entered into an agreement with Nintendo to develop a CD-ROM attachment, for the Super Nintendo. Due to contractual problems it was never released, and instead, a modified version was introduced by Sony called the PlayStation.

I'm fairly certain it's software emulation on all the models, but I'm not sure if any particular PS3 model does it better or worse than any other PS3 model. Anybody have any insight on this?
