Cogswap compatibility?

So I recently got a ghostcase for my PS2 Slim to play imports via Cogswap, but when I use a US DVD game to put in a PAL DVD (Destroy All Humans 1), it stops at the copyright screen and locks up. Is there a compatibility issue at play here or am I missing something? I'm using a Pound HDMI adapter and DAH PAL has 60Hz support from what I heard, so I don't know what the issue could be
