No ms root folder on psp

No ms root folder on psp

Recently got a psp-1000 for free and when I hooked it up to my PC there is only two folders: PSP and md_root. I'm trying to play ISO's but every tutorial says to put it in the memory card root but the folder isn't there. Anyone know why?
