Mame roms

Pretty much, I've been trying to get MAME roms to work on the SNES mini, but every rom crashes and boots to start, no matter the MAME core. I get my MAME roms from Edge|emulation since emuparadise stopped supporting roms, and they only have MAME .208 roms available.
Is there something wrong with these roms, and if so, what's safe site supports MAME roms that work with the current cores?
