Is it possible for the av cable to cause some games to be dark?

I know sometimes the cable is loose and I have to really shove it further for it to work.

Would getting a new av cable possibly fix this sort of issue where games are just too dark too see? Not the TV. I've tried it on 2 tvs and a monitor.
