Rpi RP2 (pico) not discoverable in Ubuntu Thonny

Post by /RaspberryPi »

Hello,

I just started trying to program my pico. I held bootsel, plugged in the device, and then released bootsel. The device was visible. I then added the firmware rp2-pico-20230426-v1.20.0.uf2. Then the device disappeared. Apparently this was supposed to happen. I opened Thonny, and the device was not visible (no Pico interpreter available, device not discoverable). I unplugged and plugged back in the device and restarted Thonny. Still unable to locate. What's going on here? I am able to redo the bootsel process as many times as I need, and I've tried both v1.20.0 and v1.19.1 of the firmware. Should I try even lower versions?

I am on Ubuntu 20.

Thanks,

-AA
