failed to read disc error

I got a ps2 slim scph 77004 pal last week and today it stopped reading discs.
today,about 3 hours ago i noticed that while playing resident evil 4 that the cutscenes started freezing and i decided to reboot the console but after i rebooted it,i keep getting ''The disc could not be read.",i tried with 4 other discs but none work.
I saw some videos on youtube about holding the pins down that tell the system that the lid is closed but it didnt work.
Is it gone?
