xbox controller wont sync

xbox controller wont sync

Had my series x for about 6 months with no issues but today I plugged in a pair of headphones and controller wont sync anymore. I've reset xbox and controller batteries are charged and it works while plugged into xbox but it won't sync anyone have this issue or a fix?
