PAL Xbox won't read PAL games

[Released: 2001] The Xbox was Microsoft's first video game console after collaborating with Sega to port Windows CE to the Dreamcast console and was the first console offered by an American company after the Atari Jaguar stopped sales in 1996.

PAL Xbox won't read PAL games

I fixed up a PAL Xbox with XBoxHDM with softmod files. After that I uninstalled the softmod because I wanted to return it to stock. But after the uninstall it refuses to load PAL games. It tells me that it's not hte correct region. It reads disks fine as it booted up a PAL Halo 2 game fine. What could be the problem?
