Disk Drive not working (Hitachi)

Good Morning r/xbox360 !
I have had a craving to play Skate 2/3 recently and dug my Xbox 360 out of storage in the basement. It is one of the old, white Xbox 360s (fat, no HDMI). Before I put in in storage, I would have issues where the drive wouldn't read the disk. I typically fixed this by opening the console and disk drive, moving the laser back to the 'middle' of the rails, clean the head with iso and a q-tip and then trying again. I've done all of those thing, but it still does not work. Today I put a game into the drive, I hear it trying to read the disk, but then on the Dashboard I see 'play DVD'. In the past, it use to be unrecognizable disk. Any idea what is going on here or how to fix it? Do I need to replace the laser in the drive? Or at this point would it be easier to just get a used console somewhere?
