Elite 2 on COD titles

I have started to experience weird connectivity issues with the Elite 2 controller on COD titles only. Every 30min or so the Elite 2 restarts by itself mid game. Other times my character suddenly start to spin, and I have to wait a good 5-10 seconds before it goes back to normal.
I noticed this first when I was playing COD Vanguard, but the same thing is happening on the newly released MWII. I have played with my Elite 2 on many other games but I only experience this on COD titles. Also worth mentioning that this happens more frequently while I have my headset is connected to the controller. I think I have one year left on my warranty. Has anyone had a similar problem?
