PSP doesnt turn on after battery mod

title, although the psp does turn on without the battery (and plugged in ofc), it doesnt with the battery. The Light stays green forever, just no display. I can still use it with the battery if I turn it on while plugged (no battery) then put the battery in while its turned on.

The problem I feel is that I'm using a PS3 controller battery. Voltage is fine at 3.7v but capacity is only 600mah. I have the generic 3000mah lipo coming but I wanted to try my soldering skills to see if I can do the mod in the first place (I'm usually unskilled when it comes to this kinds of mods). Now I'm afraid even the 3000mah battery wont work.
