Cannot create pi user on a Synology NAS

Post by /RaspberryPi »

Image Just a warning for any users of Synology boxes who want to create a general Pi user on them.
I have a few Raspberry Pi boards around the house and wanted to dump data from one of them onto the NAS (920+ DSM v7) so went to create a user pi and got this warning:

It is happy with another two character user name but not pi...
I know a lot of attacks via port 22 are targeted at pi (as well as root etc) but this is the first time I have actually seen a box block this as a user!
