I need some help.

[Released: 1994] Sony entered into an agreement with Nintendo to develop a CD-ROM attachment, for the Super Nintendo. Due to contractual problems it was never released, and instead, a modified version was introduced by Sony called the PlayStation.

Has anyone experienced ps1 controllers not working on there console? I have tried a ps2 controller in the ps1 and it works but if I try with a ps2 and use the ps1 controllers, they work. If anyone knows anything that might help, I would appreciate it. Thank you
