God of War Ragnarok Dev Reassures Fans of No Further Delays for the Billionth Time

Post by PlayStationLifestyle »

Santa Monica Studio’s Cory Barlog was stuck reassuring fans yet again over the weekend that there won’t be another God of War Ragnarok delay. The conversation was sparked by a random tweet in which Barlog asked fans to “be cool,” prompting his followers to jump to the conclusion that the announcement of another delay was incoming.

just saying, to no one in particular…
be cool.

Santa Monica Studio developers have previously been harassed and abused on social media due to lack of God of War Ragnarok news and several delays. Barlog is known for publicly sticking up for the team, decrying toxicity and asking social media users on numerous occasions to respect developers. His tweet above seemingly came out of nowhere, leading followers to assume that another delay was going to be announced and Barlog is probably bracing himself for another round of backlash. Not quite.
In a separate exchange with a follower, Barlog seemingly dismissed suggestions that a new God of War Ragnarok trailer was about to be released.
God of War Ragnarok’s marketing has been an odd one for a Sony first-party game. We’ve barely seen any gameplay, and without much fanfare, Sony announced the game’s release date, special editions, and pre-order information via a PlayStation Blog entry. Considering Sony has held State of Play events for third-party games and the fact that God of War Ragnarok is only three months away from release, fans are left wondering what’s happening behind the scenes.
According to the latest rumor, a PlayStation State of Play will be held in September so here’s hoping we see something soon.
In other news, Days Gone developers don’t seem too happy with the movie’s choice of actor for protagonist Deacon St. John, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor release date may have been leaked.
