Forwarding scripted keystrokes?

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I want to connect my Raspberry Pi 400 to my Xbox to emulate a keyboard. I have downloaded the pi400kb library to forward keystrokes.
However, to automate the keystrokes, I downloaded ‘AutoKey’. I wrote a Python script in this application to perform the in-game actions I needed.
I turned on keystroke forwarding mode in ‘pi400kb’, and then ran the fake keystroke script. The script worked, except it started to type on the Linux OS, rather than going to the Xbox. It should have been going to the Xbox as keystroke forwarding was active.
Any ideas on how to get this working?
To be clear, actual physical keystrokes are forwarded to the Xbox perfectly, but scripted keystrokes stay on the Pi’s system, rather than being forwarded.
