Tools to help restoring linux / PI?

What a coincidence. just when I was looking at a slightly old backup of pi considering to delete. I discovered my PI card is dying.
I can access though most of the data. fsck couldn't fix it. I decided to use another card. question though are there some tools that attempt to reinstall programs I had, restore wifi and bluetooth connections and so on, to bring it as close as possible to its original state? what's your procedure usually to restore if you don't have full backup?
