Raspbian on Alpine Linux on Raspberry PI 0

Post by /RaspberryPi »

Hey All,
I have a Raspberry Pi 0 with Raspbian instlalled. I only log in via the TTY console but noticed that sometimes the device can be slow to type when I use vim. Im only talking about a very slight lag in typing but it is noticeable.
The footprint on the Pi is very lite. As mentioned I am only running on the TTY console (no desktop environment). So I was wondering if the response can be improved by loading a lighter OS like Alpine Linux.
I was wondering if any one has installed this and how they found the responsiveness between Alpine and Raspbian or if they were effectively running at the same speed?
Thanks
