Ambilight without capture card?

im buying a cap card anyway for its intended purpose but i much more like the wireless aspect of using a ESP and WLED to wirelessly transmit from prismatik

I've used an arduino via USB on my last project but id like to try the wireless setup with WLED and Prismatik. i have my arduino uno but burnt out all my NodeMCU's and have 2 pi zerow's.
IDK exactly why the cap card is needed but i only use PC or Chromecast from a PC so capturing whats on the TV itself isnt a factor.
