raspberry pi problems with pip modules

I am currently trying to get a python script up and running on a raspberry pi 4 2GB, but I am experiencing incredible issues installing pikepdf. After some research I figured that pikepdf is probably not the only module that occurs to have problems with the pi's arm architecture, so I wanted to ask if someone stumbled across similar issues with other libraries. And if you found ways on how to overcome them, I would be glad about your input :)
