Is there a way to use the switch wireless genesis controllers on original hardware?

[Released: 1988] The Sega Genesis was Sega's most successful console; though Sega has never released a total sales figure quote. Several add-ons were created including the Sega CD and Sega 32X which extended its capabilities.

Do any of the adapters allow you to use the switch online genesis controllers (3b or 6b) on an original Mega Drive/Genesis? I know 8-bitdo hasn't updated their adapter firmware in a while so do custom firmwares exist that'll let it sync?
