Do we have any confirmation that we can set the menus to english even on the Japanese PCE Mini? Would there be any downside apart from the increased cost of importing it?

Is there any reason we can't import the PCE Mini to North America?
I really want the console, but I find the TG16 ugly compared to the PCE and CoreCrafx models. Also, it looks as though it may only come with one controller, and the extra controllers being made by Hori will apparently only come in the PCE colours.
Do we have any confirmation that we can set the menus to english even on the Japanese PCE Mini? Would there be any downside apart from the increased cost of importing it?
