Failed to write config keeps popping up with project eris

i've been trying to switch the games built into the classic to ntsc but every time i try and select save global settings it says fails to write config, it works when i try and save it for the current game but I just want tobe able to not have to worry about swapping regions every time I boot up a game. is there any easy way to fix this?
