Gauntlet 4

I have hakchi 2.31 and modded my nes classic. Gantlet 1 plays fine but I can't get gauntlet 4 sega gen/md to run. It just goes to a blank screen then back to menu. I have added the --retroarch --core genesis_plus_gx that didn't work. I even rename from .gen to .md. Still doesn't work. I have retroarch cores installed. Can anyone help?
