Purchased Modded Version

Weird question, i purchased a classic mini snes on ebay and it's modded with a bunch of silly weird games. I'd like to either get it back to the OG version, or mod it so it has mario lol. I tried downloading Hakchi 2.0 CE, but it's not connecting and not letting me "flash the kernel". Is it possible this was originally modded with an older version of Hakchi? Is there a way to find out which version I need? Also, i see i need to revert back to the original kernel to do a factory reset, (I don't have the original kernel), is there one I can download online that'll work? I appreciate the help, I only have the basic understanding of what I'm doing!
