Famicom games on nes classic

I have attempted to add several famicom games to my nes classic (akira, ai senshi nicol, akumajou special: boku Dracula kun) and none of them work. I’ve tried selecting different cores such as Nestopia and fceumm but alas I just get the same errors about the suspend point not being usable. I’ve heard about using mappers but I have no idea how to use them. Any help would be appreciated on this as I have a handful of other Japanese famicom games that I need fixed on the classic as well. Thank you
