Kisado Problem

Recently picked up a turbografx console and have been loving the system. I decided to get a kisado converter off of ebay to expand my game library. Got my first japanese game in the mail today which is Son Son II. Everytime I load it up it glitches or goes to a black screen after pressing run on the main menu. Was wondering if the adapter is known to have issues like this, or is incompatible with certain titles?
