Mods won’t work Help!

I have been trying to hack this thing for a few days now with no luck. The farthest I got was to install bleemsync and give OTG support, but now I even question if that worked. Whenever I try to load one any software it won’t boot into the menus. I have tried Retroboot (which is the main one I want), Bleemsync and Autobleem. All of them boot into the standard menu. I was at first using a usb 3.0 and I thought that that was the problem so I got a compatible usb 2.0 drive and it still doesn’t work. I have watched tutorials and followed guides. I don’t know what went wrong. Please help me. I really just don’t want the money I spent on this to go to waste.
