My battery on my new one only runs a few hours behind every few weeks. It'll eventually need replaced but I was wondering if just leaving it plugged in would prevent the battery from draining.

PS2 battery
Is the PS2 battery always engaged, or only when it is unplugged? I recently got my first PS2 after borrowing a friends. His battery is toast and until I got this one I figured it was like Xbox where there is no battery.
