Unable to get a response from pressing circle, square, triangle or X buttons on PSP 3000.

Just as title states. PSP is from Japan and said all buttons dont work but all arrows, home, volume up and down, screen brightness work. PSP is in set up time screen unable to get past that without the use of O button. Any ideas. This king of opening it up and checking it out but I have minimal experience with opening up PSP's I've never opened a 3000 only 1000's
