New 3DS XL won’t connect to the WPS WiFi

[Released: 2011] The 3DS is similar to the DS, but is capable of projecting stereoscopic 3D effects without the use of 3D glasses or additional accessories. A redesigned "XL" version of the console was also released.

New 3DS XL won’t connect to the WPS WiFi

Recently my family’s WiFi router died, and I mean d i e d.... So xfinity sent us a new router but it ONLY has WPS connection. It’s pretty cool, you push the button on top when wanting to connect to it. The only problem is that my 3DS won’t connect to it even though it has a WPS connection feature - what do I do? Is it incompatible or am I trying to connect it wrong? Help!!
