Is it normal for this to happen or am I really impatient?

[Released: 2011] The 3DS is similar to the DS, but is capable of projecting stereoscopic 3D effects without the use of 3D glasses or additional accessories. A redesigned "XL" version of the console was also released.

Maybe this is a silly question but I bought the game Etrian Odyssey Nexus and I have been waiting for about an hour and a half (I still wait while I write this) for the 3DS to download all the data, because on the loading screen it says: Save data initialized.
I know there are some games that take hours or even less to load, but is it normal for me to wait so long on this loading screen?
Is my concern unnecessary?
