Uncharted and The Last of Us PS3 multiplayer servers going offline

Post by Electronic Gaming Monthly »

Naughty Dog has announced plans to take the PlayStation 3 multiplayer servers for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, The Last of Us, and The Last of Us: Left Behind offline for good later this year.
“It’s bittersweet to say the least. Uncharted and The Last of Us multiplayer on the PS3 are defining entries in Naughty Dog’s history and we’ve been honored to support the passionate communities that have grown around them for almost a decade,” the developer wrote in a blog post. “We have so many fond memories from playing alongside you throughout the years.”
The servers will officially be taken offline permanently on September 3rd, 2019. However, until then, Naughty Dog is making all multiplayer DLC for Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, and The Last of Us free on PS3.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves originally released in 2009, with Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception following in 2011, and finally The Last of Us in 2013. All three games are also available on PlayStation 4.
