Took PSX apart now disks won't spin

[Released: 1994] Sony entered into an agreement with Nintendo to develop a CD-ROM attachment, for the Super Nintendo. Due to contractual problems it was never released, and instead, a modified version was introduced by Sony called the PlayStation.

Took PSX apart now disks won't spin

Just bought an old PS1 for nostalgia reasons. Console was working fine however I thought I would open it up to clean it as I could here parts moving when I picked it up. Turns out there was just dirt in there, I removed it and put the console back together.
Now it won't spin discs. The device turns on , when I press the lid sensor down I see the laser move down and up however the disc does not spin. Opened the console and it appears everything is connected fine. Anyone experienced this?
