GameCube on Wii

I recently ordered some GameCube games for my Wii since I never was able to play them as a kid. My Wii has the GameCube ports and it’s hard to find a controller that isn’t expensive, is there a work around where I could get one of the controllers that plug into the Wii mote? You can get brand new ones for cheap and I don’t like playing 30 dollars for a used controller. To me a used controller is like a used condom, especially when the console is 18 years old.
