How do i have a different color for a gameboy color game hud?

[Released: 1998] As suggested by the name, features a color screen. It is slightly thicker and taller than the Game Boy Pocket, which is a redesigned Game Boy released in 1996. As with the original Game Boy, it has an 8-bit processor and the custom Zilog Z80 central processing unit.

Hey I am working on a gameboy color game and my hud should have four specific colors that do not change, even when the background has a different palette. I know that it is possible because Zelda Oracle of ages/seasons has done it Does anyone know, how i could do it I'm using gbdk btw
