I went to my local game store the other day, and they had a PS3 Slim w/YLOD for $10
I felt like I wanted to try my hand at a possible repair, here is everything I have done so far…
- Cleaned the ENTIRE system, it was filthy
- Put new thermal Paste
- Swapped the HDD
The console will stay on longer than when I first tried, but still gets the YLOD after being on for 5 seconds.
I have no actual soldering skills, is there any good links/videos of repairing YLOD or something else I should try that I have not listed?
I appreciate your help, if it doesn’t work after a bit more tinkering I will just cut my losses and sell on Ebay for parts
