NBA Jam -- sound almost imperceptible

My NBA JAM board, which was working fine until last week, has next to no volume when playing it. Adjusting the volume pot does nothing, except make a little static, and swapping it out for another volume pot does nothing as well. Cabinet wiring is fine because I have two MK games in this same cabinet on a Riddle switcher and sounds are loud and clear on those.
