12v Noctua directly from PicoPSU 12v rail?

[Released: 1998] Born out of Sega's darkest hour to decide whether the company stays in the hardware business. Even though it didn't officially last long in the US, it was continued selling in Japan and spawned some great 2D Japanese shooters.

12v Noctua directly from PicoPSU 12v rail?

Post by /dreamcast »

Hi there.

I had some spare 12v Noctuas lying around, so I bought the printed parts to use one on my Dreamcast. It will not work directly from Dreamcast's fan pins. It tries, but will not spin without help on every boot.

It works fine from PicoPSU 12v rail, but it is a V1 Dremcast, so it will turn off itself, since it is not detecting any fan load.

Any non invasive and easy solution to trick the Dreamcast fan sensor?

Is it a good idea to run it this way?

Thanks for any given help!
