WS2812B With raspberry pi model b (512mb version)

Post by /RaspberryPi »

Hi

i am working on a project which involves a rfid reader as well as a strip of led WS2812B lights. I have got the rfid reader up and running, but am having issues with the lights.

I have setup a dedicated 5v adapter for them , which is providing enough power, but am having issues with with getting the pi to find them. I have been using this guide, but advice for older pi models is slim https://core-electronics.com.au/guides/raspberry-pi/fully-addressable-rgb-raspberry-pi/. I was looking at buying a pi 3 or 4 for this project, but I just can’t source one at present.

Attached is a copy of how I have things setup https://imgur.com/1ZXlrwi
