A question regarding the airflow

[Released: 2020] The console has a few significant improvements over PS4: ray tracing support, an improved CPU, custom 3D audio chip, and an SSD instead of HDD. The console is compatible with PlayStation VR headsets and backward-compatible with games for the PS4.

A question regarding the airflow

I went to a friend's house and I noticed he has a fan working and pointed to the air intake of the ps5 now I asked him why he told me is to keep a good flow of air into the ps5 and said he did the same for his PS4, now I never had any problem with my ps5 getting so hot it shuts down, My question is, Does this method work on keeping the ps5 less hot?
