Ca a Pi Pico be used to act as a programmable relay?

Ca a Pi Pico be used to act as a programmable relay?

Post by /RaspberryPi »

What I want is very simple. I have normal NO and NC switches in my car and I am planning to repurpose them to control my garage door remote by simply soldering the switches to the buttons that are present on the remote.

For this, I obviously don't need a relay. In fact, I already have this wired up and working. However, I want to be able to program it's behaviour.

Examples:

If window switch (which then goes to the Pi) is triggered, bridge the contacts of the remote for 10 seconds.

Or:

If child lock switch (which then goes to the Pi) is being continuously open (NC switch), pulse the remote (bridge contact for 10s, release, repeat.)
