Does anyone know how to recover a old account?

I used to have an account a while ago like 5-6 years ago but I don't remember my login. The email should be right but it brings me to a new account and I have no idea what he password could be. How would I go about recovering it? I was thinking just calling Microsoft about it but I don't know which number. Any ideas on what to do?
