PSP stuck on "please wait" while trying to connect to PC through USB

Hello, My PSP's version is 5.50 GEN-D3 and i've been trying to upgrade it to 6.61 but i get an error that says the psp's version is 9.90

I tried to find a solution for this and apparently i have to go to the psp's files and change the version's text thingy from 9.90 to 5.50, Which requires me to connect my psp to my PC through USB...However, The psp's screen stays stuck on "Please wait" whenever i try to connect it to my pc via usb
Is there any way to solve this? The only thing i tried is factory resetting
